19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced service.

He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

He defended four early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he clinched the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
